On Firday 12, the First T-20 match of England tour of India took place as England comfortably hammered India on its own soil. The match was played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahemdabad popularly known as Motera Stadium. The game was definitely not a memorable one for the hosts India as England dominated India in every aspect and won by 8 wickets. Shreyas Iyer was the only player of India who played up to his standards and with his much needed 67 run innings took India to 124/7 but the opening pair of England completely demolished the Indian bowling and did not give India a single chance to bounce back.

Apart from the result of the match, the Uttarakhand Police took a jibe at Virat Kohli in an attempt to draw attention towards rash driving and to raise driving awareness. Virat Kohli had not been in a good form at this phase. The captain of the Indian Cricket Team got out on 0 off Adil Rashid’s delivery. After playing 4 dot balls, the captain was trying to quick fire which lead to him getting caught by Chris Jordan in third over.

The Uttarakhand Police took to twitter and posted “ A helmet is not enough! It is necessary to drive in full consciousness. Otherwise , like Kohli, you too can be out on zero.” The tweet was in Hindi.

While the tweet by Uttarakhand Police was just an attempt to raise awareness about safety while driving, many fans found it unacceptable and considered it a shameful act by the authority. Some said that it was a bizarre tweet and the tweet was disrespecting the player. The tweet attracted mixed reactions as some neitzens found it funny too. This was not the first time when the official account of a Government Authority took a jibe at cricketers to raise awareness on different issues. In the past also, Jaipur police trolled Bumrah to draw attention towards traffic rules and at that time huge criticism was faced by Jaipur Police for its tweet.

It was definitely a disappointing day for Indian fans as well as the entire Indian Cricket team because of their poor performance. Anyways, the team would be looking forward to perform well in the second T-20 which is going to take place on 14th February at Narendra Modi Stadium. England has gained a 1-0 lead in the 5 match T-20 series.
