FIFA World Cup 2022 has already started but some popular names are missing from the tournament as a result of various reasons. While some will miss the tournament due to an injury, others have been left out because the manager doesn’t fancy them. One of these famous players is Isco Alarcon. Fans want to know the reason as to why Isco Alarcon is not playing for Spain.
Spain doesn’t have any Real Madrid player in their squad but Isco never really stood a chance after a tough season for him personally. The reason behind his omission from Spain World Cup 2022 Squad is his bad form and lack of playing time in the past year. Isco Alarcon has been left out of the Spain squad, paying the price for not playing often enough for Real Madrid under coach Santiago Solari. Isco, quite simply, does not have enough match practice to be playing for Spain at World Cup 2022. He was also not included in Spain’s Squad for Nations League. Therefore his exclusion from Spain Squad is not a surprising one.
Isco hasn’t received many minutes at Real Madrid since Solari and even when Zinedine Zidane took over the squad last year. The playmaker often didn’t even make it to the bench, and there were reports he and the club were negotiating a transfer. With the likes of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the side, Isco has always faced an uphill battle to become a mainstay in the starting XI. He was a regular starter under Zidane in the coach’s first spell with Real Madrid, and his place in the Spain Squad had not been questioned until now.
It is the first time that no Real Madrid player has been included in a Spain squad for a major tournament.
Carlo Ancelotti is Isco’s last hope at Real Madrid. The arrival of Ancelotti can help Isco to bounce back. Ancelotti is one man capable of seeing his traits, getting the most out of these traits, finding a niche role for the player, supporting him emotionally, and mitigating the interference his playing style may cause on other midfielders and attackers. Isco could have some kind of role for new coach Carlo Ancelotti, who always found a way to give him minutes during his first tenure in the Spanish capital.
The midfielder is under contract with Real Madrid until 2022. If Ancelotti include Isco in his plans for next season and Isco performs with his best ability then he might be able to make a place in Spain Squad for Fifa World Cup 2022.
