Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has announced South African all-rounder Aiden Markram as the new captain of the team for the upcoming season of IPL 2023. The team released their skipper Kane Williamson in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 mini-auction and therefore were in search of a new skipper.

Markram is the most deserving players to lead SRH because he possess the qualities of a captain and also has considerable experience to his name. The all-rounder led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the SA20 title in January 2022. He was also the captain of South Africa U-19 team that won in 2014. Markram also remained as captain of the South African national team for a brief period.
