New Delhi | Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday extended Hindi Diwas greetings to the people of the nation and appealed that Hindi be made the primary language as it is necessary to have one to represent India. He appealed to the fellow countrymen to increase the usage of Hindi language to realise the dreams of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and Iron Man Sardar Patel.
Mr Shah said India is a country of several languages and every language has its own importance but it is very important to have a language which should become the identity of India in the world. If one language can unite the country today, it is the widely-spoken Hindi language, he added.
Ministry of Home Affairs, on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, is observing Hindi Fortnight and during which many Hindi programmes, competitions, symposiums, conferences, Rajbhasha Sammelan are being organised.
