Jaipur:Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, Pro Chancellor, Bhartiya Skill Development University, was awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Best Employer of the Year- 2018 award ceremony organised by the Employers’ Association of Rajasthan. Dr. (Brig.) S.S. Pabla was awarded with Lifetime Achievement for his work towards promoting skill development in the state of Rajasthan and inspiring students to choose skill development courses.
The Employers’ Association of Rajasthan celebrated its 55th Foundation Day on 15th November, 2019 and presented the best entrepreneurs and leaders in the industry with awards. Multiple employers and companies set across Rajasthan were given awards in different categories and the Chief Guest at the award ceremony was Mr. Prasadi Lal Meena, Minister of Industries, Rajasthan.
Other distinguished guests included, Dr. K.L. Jain, Honorary Secretary General of the Rajasthan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rajiv Arora, Vice President- Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee, Dr. Samit Sharma, Labor Commissioner, and Muktanand Aggarwal, Commissioner of Industries, Govt. of Rajasthan.
Started in 2006, the Best Employer Awards by EAR (Employers’ Association of Rajasthan) have become popular among companies and employers over Rajasthan and a matter of prestige. The Best Employer award- 2018 in the large industries category (Cement, Chemical, Process Group) was given to K.M.
White Cement Works, Gotan (Nagaur), DCM Shriram Ltd., Kota. In the medium industries category, Rajasthan Eelectronics and Instrumental Ltd, in the medium service sector enterprises, DGS Translogistic India Pvt. Ltd. were given awards. The special award in the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award was given for the first time ever, to Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, for his contributions to the skill development scenario in Rajasthan.
Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, Pro Chancellor, Bhartiya Skill Development University, said, “It is an extreme honor to have received this award by the Employers’ Commission of Rajasthan. Skill Development is required at this time in our country, when several youth are sitting at home, unemployed.
Most people choosing mainstream education has resulted in a lack of jobs and there are now more job-seekers than there are jobs available. Skill based education can lead us to a new path and open up many opportunities for the youth.” Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla is the Pro Chancellor at Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU). With rich experience in multiple infrastructure projects, Academics and Academic Administration, Dr. Pabla aims to bring about a positive change in education system by offering students a dynamic education system which in sync with industry.
Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla is himself a Mechanical Engineer with M.Tech and also PhD from IIT Bombay. Dr. Pabla has been Vice Chancellor of four universities, Pro VC of one university and Director of two Institutes of Technology. His experience in the Army, in addition to command of army units, also includes Engineering Professional work and Administration.
