Germany squad for UEFA EURO 2020 announced : No Marco Reus

Coach Joachim Loew has finalized the 26-man EURO 2020 squad. Mueller and Hummels were dropped after Germany’s disappointing 2018 World Cup first round exit and a poor Nations League performance later that year. They are now back in the squad.

Löw has already announced that he will step down as coach at the end of tournament – scheduled to run from 11 June to 11 July – following 15 years in charge. It was clear before the announcement that Marc-André ter Stegen and Marco Reus wouldn’t be included in the squad. Ter Stegen recently confirmed that he will miss out due to an injury, and Reus has ruled himself out of contention as well, explaining that he wants to recover from a ‘very intense’ season.

The Germans are in Group F along with Hungary, holder Portugal and France, and play all three of their group matches in Munich.
