NGolo Kante Biography

N’Golo Kante (born 29 March 1991) is a  professional French footballer who plays in the position of central midfielder. At present he plays for club Chelsea in the English Premier League and represents the national team of France. He is considered to be one of the best midfielders in the world.

Early Life

The first thing to start with while talking about NGolo Kante Biography is his early life. Kante was born in Paris to Malian parents who migrated to France from Mali in 1980. He grew up in a small flat in Rueil-Malmaison, Hauts-de-Seine. His father died shortly after N’Golo turned 11 and his elder sibling Niama died of a heart-attack before the 2018 World Cup.  After the death of his father, he only stayed with his mother. Little Kante knows the value of hard work in life, every day he always tries to ease the burden on his family.

Kanté began his career at the age of eight at JS Suresnes in the western suburbs of the capital, remaining there for a decade.Growing up in Rueil Malmaison, Kante’s childhood had been spent as a scavenger. He walked far to the east of Paris to collect waste and garbage. He sold those waste and garbage to a recycling company. Kante realized that his job could not meet the family need. At that time, he had a big dream to work hard in order to free his family from poverty.

Starting of Football Career

N’Golo Kante made his senior professional debut with Boulogne in 2012, appearing as a substitute in one Ligue 2 match and played an entire season in the third division the following year. He later joined League 2 side Caen on a free transfer, finished third and won promotion to the Ligue 1. Kante stayed with the club for one more year.

In 2015, Kante joined Leicester City, a club in England, for a fee worth £5.6 million and became an integral member of the club. He won his first Premier League title with the club. It was also the first Premier League title of club itself. He was also named as the Player of the Year for Leicester City in his first, and only season at the club. The following year, he joined Chelsea for a fee worth £32 million and won the league. He became the first outfield player to win back-to-back English league titles with different clubs since Eric Cantona in 1992 and 1993.

International Career

Kante made his senior international debut for France in 2016 and was included in the squad that finished runners-up at the 2016 European Championship. In 2017 Kante was named the French Player of the Year. He was the first player from the Premier League in seven years to won that award.  After 12 months he was a key member of the France squad. He won the 2018 Fifa World Cup and played a crucial part in the tournament.

Records

Kante won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year to become the first outfield player to win back to back English League titles playing for different teams in 2017. The French midfielder was named in the PFA Team of the Year in 2015. Kante topped the tackles table with a whopping 175 tackles at the end of the season 2015-2016 in the Premier League. He was named by L’Équipe as the world’s 6th best footballer in 2016. The Chelsea player was nominated for the Ballon d’Or in 2017.
