Schweinsteiger is one of those failed signings under the management of Louis Van Gal. He is definitely one of the best midfielders and he has proved himself for his German club Bayern. He is also a World Cup winner. But with increasing age the performance of a player keeps decreasing and that’s what the problem was with him. The German midfielder was signed by Louis van Gaal back in 2015. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite work out for the World Cup winner. He received standing ovation when coming off the bench during their EFL Cup quarter-final win on his last ever appearances for the them. He made 18 appearances under LVG during his first season at the club and was used as a rotation player in the midfield.

He was give the number 7 jersey previously worn by the best player ever that is Cristiano Ronaldo. He had been one of the best players in the Eredivisie and had also impressed in the World Cup. However LVG gave up on him and he was out of the team in middle of the season. The Dutchman was sold to Lyon under a buy back clause.
