Rai Bareli | A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was killed in a road mishap in the Shivgarh area of this district in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
According to the police, the accident took place on Sunday night when BJP leader Brahm Dutt Shukla was taking a walk after having dinner. An unidentified vehicle hit him at Shivgarh’s Kasana turn.
The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled from the spot along with the vehicle, while Mr Shukla fell on the road in an unconscious state. The BJP leader was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. After registering an FIR, police have sent the dead body for postmortem.
