Revenge Time : Its PSG vs Bayern in UCL QF

The draw took place on Friday 19 March at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland. The fixtures are as follows:

REAL MADRID – LIVERPOOL

BAYERN – PSG

MANCHESTER CITY – BORUSSIA DORTMUND

FC PORTO – CHELSEA

For the first time since 2004-05, there will be no Messi or Cristiano in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. Barcelona were defeated by PSG whereas Juventus were knocked out by Porto.

UCL holders Bayern Munich will face last year’s finalists Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals of this season’s Champions League. They will face PSG in the quarterfinals of the UCL on April 7th.

Both sides have had a few changes, most importantly Mauricio Pochettino taking over PSG’s command from Thomas Tuchel in January, who was sacked after the poor performances of the team and which resulted in ex-manager of Spurs taking on the French side.

Bayern boss Hansi Flick will try to become the second manager of a men’s side to consecutively win the Champions League after Zidane achieved the feat with Madrid, while PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to win his first ever champions league title, having seen his Tottenham Hostpur side lose the final to Liverpool in 2019.

This time it would be tough for Bayern to repeat its last year heroics as this time their defense is too weak as they have already conceded more goals this season (35) than they had in each of their past 9 seasons. Bayern have conceded goals left, right and center this season. The departure of Thiago Alcantara has also resulted in weakening the midfield of the team.

On the other side, the French giants would be hoping to take revenge from the German side Bayern Munich. They will try their best to avoid the last year finals replay this time. Mbappe will be the biggest threat from the opposite team. He has shown outstanding performances last week by knocking out Spanish giants Barcelona. PSG has never won the Champions League although they reached the finals last year.

Let’s see who advance to the semis this time.
