New Delhi | Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law Robert Vadra, who is facing litigation in the hawala and land irregularity case, has sought permission to go abroad from the Central Bureau of Investigation’s Court for treatment of tumors. The Rouz Avenue Court has reserved the verdict on Vadra’s plea.
The next hearing of the case will be held on June 3. Vadra had petitioned to go abroad before a special CBI court on May 21. His passport has been deposited with the court and an appeal has been made to give a passport to go abroad. During the hearing on the plea, the Enforcement directorate protested and said it was a regular medical check-up.
Vadra’s lawyer, Kts Tulsi, told the court that the client has a tumor in the large intestine which he needs to go abroad to get treatment. He is currently on conditional anticipatory bail and has been bailed out on condition of going abroad and appearing in the investigation.
He has filed a medical certificate of Sir Gangaram Hospital before the court mentioning the tumor in his large intestine and getting treatment in London.
