On Thursday, UEFA has announced on its official account that the Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea which was scheduled to take place on Saturday 29 May in Attaturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey has been moved to  Estadio do Dragao in Porto.

The Champions League final was initially scheduled to take place at the Atatürk Stadium in Istanbul but the UK government placed Turkey on its red list of COVID-19 travel destinations. It would have meant that none of the clubs’ domestic fans would be able to travel to the game. After a year of fans being locked out of stadiums, UEFA thought that everything needed to be done to ensure the supporters of the two finalist teams could attend.

UEFA is in talks with the Portuguese government to allow 20,000 spectators to attend the final. That would mean up to 6,000 tickets for fans of each club, Manchester City and Chelsea, which could massive since fans have not been allowed to watch the games at Portugal this season.
