Satish Kaushik was an Indian film director, producer, and actor, who has worked in the Hindi film industry. He was born on April 13, 1956, in Mahendragarh, Haryana, India.
Kaushik started his career in the film industry as an assistant director to Shekhar Kapoor in the movie Masoom (1983). He made his acting debut in the film Woh Saat Din (1983), in which he played a supporting role. He later acted in several movies, including Ram Lakhan (1989), Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), and Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), among others.
Kaushik made his directorial debut with the film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), which was a commercial failure. However, he went on to direct successful movies such as Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999), Tere Naam (2003), and Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai (2001), among others.
Apart from directing and acting, Kaushik has also produced movies such as Tere Naam (2003) and Milenge Milenge (2010). He has won several awards for his work, including the Filmfare Award for Best Comedian for Ram Lakhan (1989) and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Saajan Chale Sasural (1996).
In addition to his work in the film industry, Kaushik has also appeared in several television shows, including the popular comedy series, Comedy Circus. He has also written a book titled “Prem Naam Hai Mera, Prem Chopra” about his experiences working with the legendary actor Prem Chopra.
Kaushik died of a heart attack in Gurugram on 9 March 2023.
