Virat Kohi became the first player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to score 6000 runs. Virat Kohli completes 6000 runs in the 16th match of IPL 2021 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals.

Virat Kohli has been playing in IPL since its first season in 2008. Kohli and Pollard are the only two players who have played only for a single franchise. Virat Kohli has played only for Royal Challengers Bangalore in his whole career of IPL whereas Kieron Pollard has played only for Mumbai Indians.
Although, Virat Kohli and his team Royal Challengers Bangalore has not won any IPL title till now but the individual records of Kohli are unbelievable. He has scored 40 fifties and 5 centuries in IPL. Kohli’s best season was IPL 2016. The RCB skipper slammed four centuries in a single season of IPL, which is most by an individual in a single season of the league. However his team was defeated in the finals by Sunrisers Hyderabad. With 973 runs in 2016, he also holds the record of scoring the most runs in a single edition. Virat has the maximum runs in the IPL tournament. No other player is able to achieve the landmark of 6000 runs in IPL. Virat is the only one to complete 6000 runs. He is the first one and to do so.
Talking about the game, RCB won the game by 10 wickets. Padikkal scored a sensational 101 off 52 balls whereas Kohli played a brilliant knock of 72 off 47 balls. After completing his fifty, Kohli gave a flying kiss which was dedicated to his daughter Vamika.

Virat Kohli completes 6000 runs in his 188 inning. He is at the top of table of highest run scorers in Indian Premier League. Suresh Raina is at second position followed by Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner.
