In a nail biting match, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the first match of the season by defeating last year champions Mumbai Indians. RCB win the thriller and start off with a bang. Heartbreak for MI but it was an absolute cracker of a game. Mumbai’s curse of losing the first game continues. Harshal Patel took a five wicket haul and help his team winning the first match of their campaign. Unbelievable bowling at death by Harshal. The way he performed was tremendous, brilliant trade by RCB. In his first over he gave 15 runs but in his last 3 overs, he gave only 12 runs and clinched 5 wickets. He took 5 consecutive important wickets of Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Marco Jansen and restricted MI to go for a big score. Virat and Maxwell started the chase and AB took it to end. AB devillers played an amazing knock of 48 runs. Harshal also scored the winning run for his side. The youngster Rajat Patidar failed to impress with his performances. Chris Lynn played a good knock for Mumbai after their captain was run out. Hardik and Pollard also failed to have a impact on the game. At last, all we can say is that it was an amazing start to the season.
