England wicketkeeper batsman Jonny Bairstow is not playing in IPL 2023 because he has been ruled out of the tournament as he continues to recover from the freak injury he picked up last September. Bairstow slipped while playing golf and therefore he had surgery on a broken left leg and dislocated ankle. He has not played since.
